Don Campbell

 

With a life spent on stages, it would be no surprise that Don Campbell’s work as a solo performer and bandleader, would have been where many new fans first experienced his music and musicianship.  No matter how many miles he and his bandmates have spent in the van, his songs have undoubtedly traveled farther and reached many more people.

Don’s been named Maine’s Best Singer-Songwriter in the Maine Sunday Telegram’s Annual Readers Poll – six consecutive years, 2004-2009, and was also named Male Artist of the Year for the Just Plain Folks Independent Music Awards.
 
Don has written and released 12 CDs, most recently a new original adult contemporary project, The Dust Never Settles, in 2014. Additionally, he has been commissioned many times to write songs for specific organizations and occasions. These include “A Friend Right Here,” the National Theme Song for Visiting Nurses Association of America, 
and placements in documentary films, including 2010’s Eco School House documentary.

Don Campbell frequently performs solo concerts in small listening rooms, as well as feature appearances at galas, benefits, and civic events performing a mix of original and classic audience-favorite songs.  Additionally, Don is a resident performer at several restaurants & bars around southern Maine, when not on tours up and down the East Coast.
 
Don is known far and wide for having a song and a show for every occasion. It is this unique gift of connecting to audiences of all kinds in wildly diverse environments that has helped him win countless awards and acclaim.
 
The award-winning Don Campbell Band has been a mainstay at concerts, fairs, festivals, cruises, and civic events for over two decades, performing a mix of Don’s original music and covers from the decades and days now and then. Their dynamic and inspired performances have won them $50,000 at Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry, as well as the attention of fans from their home in New England, to the Midwest all the way to the west coast.
